The MOKO Foundation supported Alexia and Michelle, two teachers from Te Kura Taumata ō Panguru, to attend the 2016 World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland.
World Youth Day is open to all young people who want to take part in a festive encounter with their contemporaries centred on Jesus Christ. The event is an opportunity to experience first-hand the universality of the Church and to share with the whole world the hope of many young people who want to commit themselves to Jesus Christ and others.
World Youth Day is a unique way to deepen one's faith and grow closer to Christ by means of prayer and the sacraments, together with thousands of other young people who share the same interests and ambitions.
Alexia and Michelle were able to collect resources, memorabilia and icons to help present their learning upon their return. Their shared experience meant they could help deliver the message of Christ to youth in their community with an aim to inspiring them to participate in future events of World Youth Day.
